There is a great satisfaction that comes from putting two rowdy, overtired toddlers to sleep, especially when it seems like it’s totally not going to happen and they’re going to keep fighting and tearing their room up at 10 at night.
That yoga teacher training back in 2009 really comes in handy, the breathing and centering part. And the nightly insistence that there is this bridge called the Rainbow Connection and after you walk over it in your mind that’s where the Dreaming is and you can do whatever you want.
“I want to fly like the pigeons and eat blueberries and bananas and bring my pet sheep.” says Lilah. “I want to ride dinosaurs with cousin Blue Jay. And I want you and mama to be there.” says Silas.
“That’s great you two, we’ll be there waiting for you. Concentrate of walking across the rainbow bridge. Inhale into your belly, deep exhale and relax. Inhale into your belly, deep exhale and feel your body relaxing…”
Now I just wish there was someone here that could put me to sleep.
